Our FATECH FLRC-S/R Passive Resettable Mechanical Lightning Strike Counter has operated reliably in this lightning-prone area and accurately recorded 200 valid lightning strikes. The field data has fully proven the product’s dependable performance and earned high praise from the client.
Southeast Asia has a tropical monsoon climate with frequent thunderstorms throughout the year, which imposes strict requirements on the stability and durability of lightning protection monitoring equipment. Featuring a passive mechanical structure, the FLRC-S/R requires no external power supply and is maintenance-free with an extended service life. It has a minimum recording current of 350A to sensitively capture valid lightning current signals. The 4-digit mechanical counter can record up to 9999 lightning strikes and supports reset for cyclic use, making it ideal for long-term outdoor monitoring.
Easy to install, the unit can be directly clipped onto lightning down conductors without disrupting the original current discharge path of the lightning protection system. It is widely applicable to lightning protection projects for buildings, power facilities and communication infrastructures.
Since commissioning, all counters have run continuously and stably with no faults or missed records. The 200 recorded lightning strikes provide solid quantitative data for the client to analyze regional lightning activity patterns and optimize lightning protection operation and maintenance plans, demonstrating excellent reliability under harsh conditions. The client stated that the counter delivers precise and stable performance, providing vital data support for the safe operation of the project’s lightning protection system.
